The Kansas City Chiefs released Larry Johnson today, following a 2-week suspension for insulting coach Todd Haley. The running back had referred to Haley using gay slurs on his Twitter page, and then repeated the comments to reporters a day later. He leaves the team having rushed for 5,996 yards, just 74 yards short of the Chiefs' rushing record, which was set by Priest Holmes, the Kansas City Star reports.
