An estimated 20,000 law-enforcement officials from the US and Canada today joined families and friends of the four cops gunned down last week at café in Washington state. Some 2,100 cars made a four-hour procession through Lakewood and Tacoma to a service at the Tacoma Dome.
“We had to show our support, not just for the department but for the families,” one officer from New York told the News Tribune. “Everything those officers were doing, we’ve all done and continue to do. A lot of us work nights. We drink coffee just to stay awake. Now you have to keep any eye open all the time. Both eyes really.”
