Gloria Estefan’s interview with President Obama—conducted for a Univision Christmas special—didn't exactly delve into immigration reform or health care. Politico offers up the complete transcript. Some of the, uh, highlights:

  • Urgent matters: “I have a very important question to start off this interview,” Estefan says. “Which chimney will Santa be coming down?”

  • Diplomatic relations: Regarding Santa, Obama says he wants to make sure when the big guy comes to the White House "that he feels like he is getting good service.”
  • Domestic affairs: Upon finding out Obama feels “lucky” to have his mother-in-law living at the White House, Gloria gushes, “That’s wonderful. I loved my mother-in-law as well."
  • Service to the nation: Obama recommended volunteering with young people as a way to serve your country. Estefan’s response: “It’s true, one on one always is a great gift to someone else.”
