Mechanic Offers a Nobel Prize for an Oil Change
The promotion.   (Rockwall Rocks!)

A Texas car mechanic has turned President Obama’s unlikely Nobel Peace Prize into an even unlikelier promotion, and his conservative customers are loving it. At Horizon Auto in Rockwall County, an oil change comes with a Nobel—well, a sticker with a picture of the prize. And these stirring words: “Conferred for the effort and peaceful intention of getting the oil and filter changed.”

The owner tells the Dallas Morning News that equating Obama’s peaceful achievements with an oil change is just for yucks, and not a partisan attack. And though photos of the sign have made the rounds of conservative websites, it's going over some heads. “People over 35 notice it more than younger people,” says an employee. “I think they understand it better.” A new sign going up soon will be less elliptical, the owner says: “We sell brakes. Washington needs them.” (More oil change stories.)
