The suicide bomber who killed seven senior CIA officials last week said in a video released today that the attack was an act of revenge for the August killing of the leader of the Pakistani Taliban. Jordanian doctor Humam Khalil Abu Mulal al-Balawi appears next to the new leader in the 90-second video, and is shown shooting a gun while sharing his message to his "enemies"— Jordanian intelligence and the CIA —saying, "We will never forget the blood of our emir Baitullah Mehsoud. We will always demand revenge for him inside America and outside. It is an obligation of the emigrants who were welcomed by the emir."
The Telegraph notes that al-Balawi seems to mock the idea that he would actually work for the US: "The emigrant for the sake of God will not put his religion on the bargaining table and will not sell his religion even if they put the sun in his right hand and the moon in his left." Reuters adds that the Pakistani channel that ran the video quoted al-Balawi as saying he "shared all secrets of Jordanian and American intelligence with his companions."
