EA Hanks and The Left used to have a good thing going. All those marches, all those sit-ins, even those Huffington Post columns; “We were dumb kids in love with hating,” she reminisces. But The Left’s “detestable” failure in Massachusetts was the last straw. “We’re through,” she writes in a “breakup letter” at the Awl. “I don’t think you’re good for me. Or for America, for that matter.”
She’s fed up with the blogs and protesters and grandstanding congresspeople. “So much talking! So much feeling! And yet… nothing changed!” Armed with irrefutable facts—no WMDs, physical evidence of climate change, gay people performing well as parents—The Left has done nothing but, well, argue with Fox. They “stopped focusing on actually stopping evil,” and instead tried “convincing people who would never agree with you that it was evil.” (More liberal stories.)
