Bridges, Bullock Continue Roll at SAG Awards

Jeff Bridges, Sandra Bullock, and Mo'Nique firmed up as Oscar favorites after picking up honors at the SAG Awards last night in an awards show oddly reminiscent of the Golden Globes—save Inglourious Basterds' triumph over Avatar for best ensemble performance. Calling her awards season success a "fluke," Bullock, who won for The Blind Side, refuses to acknowledge she is a serious Oscar contender. "I feel it's wrong," Bullock said. "If you really want to know the truth, my money was on Meryl [Streep.]"

In his Best Actor acceptance speech for Crazy Heart, CNN reports that Bridges kept it simple: "I love being an actor, you know, pretending to be other people, getting into their shoes." Other winners included Michael C. Hall for Dexter, Julianna Margulies for The Good Wife, and Betty White for lifetime achievement. Oscar noms are due Feb. 2.
