A Texan fraternity is being investigated after members had too many beers and treated a fraternity brother like a steer—by branding him with Greek letters. Texas Christian University student Amos Carter IV suffered second- and third-degree burns when his Kappa Sigma brothers used a red-hot coat hanger on his buttocks on a ski trip earlier this month.
Carter, 20, says he drunkenly consented to have the Kappa Sigma initials branded on half of his butt—to finish a job started last spring break—but the frat brothers went too far by branding the letters for the Tri Delta Sorority on his other cheek after he passed out. "I woke up the next morning and I was in a lot of pain. My whole other butt cheek was destroyed," Carter complained to the Fort-Worth Star Telegram, which was founded by his great-grandfather. The Carter family is considering suing or seeking criminal charges against those involved.
