The US women's soccer team cruised into the semifinals of the World Cup today with a 3-0 win over England, ESPN reports. Abby Wambach, Shannon Boxx, and Kristine Lilly scored three goals in a 12-minute span of the second half. The US, seeking its third title, will face the winner of tomorrow's match between Brazil and Australia on Thursday.

As it has throughout the Cup, the US seemed to struggle in the first half, which ended scoreless. Wambach turned it around in the second, heading in a corner kick from captain Lilly in the 48th minute. In another quarterfinal today, Germany defeated North Korea 3-0 and will play either Norway or China in the semifinals. (More soccer stories.)
