You won't be seeing Randy Newman, Marion Cotillard, or Jeff Bridges crooning Oscar-nominated songs on stage at the Academy Awards this year, as speed-demon producers have killed the live performances in favor of showing clips from the films that featured them. But there will, nonetheless be dancers, the AP surmises from tweets by producer and choreographer Adam Shankman, who says he cast 69 dancers for the show's production numbers, though he hasn't revealed what they'll be dancing to.
