Everett Makes Significant Progress

Doctors for Buffalo Bills' tight end Kevin Everett said yesterday that he continues to progress, and that they are "optimistic that walking will definitely be a possibility," reports the Houston Chronicle. Everett was able to sit up for more than twice as long as he could last week, and to raise his arm against gravity, another significant improvement.

Everett seriously injured his spinal cord in the Bills' season opener September 9, when he ducked his head on a tackle. Despite a grim early prognosis, he improved enough to be transfered from Buffalo to his hometown of Houston, and has a "very positive outlook," said attending physician Dr. Teodoro Castillo.
