A former UK Cabinet minister has apologized for charging into a Chinese New Year parade and kicking a boy in a dragon costume. Norman Tebbit, 78, "ran after the dragon and kicked it," says the owner of a restaurant on the route of the 20-year-old parade in Suffolk. "The child was upset. He did not know what was happening. Someone was kicking his bottom."
Tebbit "had heard a dreadful noise and went outside and found the street blocked," he tells the Daily Mail. He attempted to stop a drummer from drumming, "then got jostled by a dragon. I have never been jostled by a dragon before." After apologies all around, Tebbit, who is new to the neighborhood, has vowed "to co-operate with the prevailing culture."
