Entertainment | Fox Kiefer's DUI Bust Threatens '24' Future Star could face a year in jail after allegedly violating probation By Max Brallier Posted Sep 26, 2007 4:42 AM CDT Copied Actor Kiefer Sutherland arrives for the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. (AP Photo/Chris Carlson) (Associated Press) A hefty jail term linked to Kiefer Sutherland's DUI arrest this week could threaten the future of the actor's hit show "24," according to the Hollywood Reporter. Sutherland's arrest Tuesday apparently violates a five-year probation and could cost him a year in jail. Sutherland was returning from a Fox party when he was stopped for making an illegal U-turn in West Hollywood. The Emmy-winning actor allegedly failed a field sobriety test and spent a few hours in lock-up before posting $25,000 bail. He's on probation for a similar offense in 2004. Sutherland was supposed to be back at work at the "24" studio today. His arrest is not expected to have any impact on the current season.
