When Facebook goes public, its IPO could make founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg the richest 25-year-old in the world. But Zuckerberg, who prides himself on his ability to delay gratification, is in no hurry: Facebook will go public, he says, but not anytime soon. Zuckerberg has, however, switched from sandals to a suit and tie because "this is a serious year," according to a Wall Street Journal profile that dishes some fresh details on Facebook's head honcho.
Employees also told the Journal that Zuckerberg, whose mom calls him Princely, is a micro-manager who rarely praises them. One engineer penned an internal memo called "Working with Zuck," that explained it's unwise to "expect acknowledgment for your role in moving the discussion forward; getting the product right should be its own reward." Fond of reciting lines from The Iliad, Zuckerberg is said to believe Facebook has a special mission that goes beyond making money, and he used to end meetings by thrusting his fist in the sir and leading employees in a chant of "domination!"
