Police suspect foul play in the disappearance of a Houston energy executive in New Orleans, though they admit they have little to go on. Douglas Schantz, president of Sequent Energy Management, was last seen in a bar on Bourbon Street around 2am on Friday, the Wall Street Journal reports. He casually left the group of friends he was with and hasn’t been heard from since. He missed his return flight to Houston.
Because his credit cards, ATM cards, and phone haven’t been used, police fear the worst. They’ve been poring over security camera footage, but so far have found only one shot of Schantz, walking alone down Bourbon Street. Three calls to the tip line didn’t pan out. “We have been using a tremendous amount of resources,” said one New Orleans police official. “As of this morning, we have met negative results.” (More New Orleans stories.)
