A repeat sex offender was sentenced to life in prison today for killing a teenage girl he'd lured into a meeting using Facebook. Peter Chapman created a fake profile, complete with a photo of an attractive, bare-chested boy, to gain the attention of 17-year-old Ashleigh Hall. The homeless 33-year-old tricked Hall into coming into his car by posing as the boy's father. He then kidnapped, raped, and murdered her.
The judge in Teesside, in northeastern England, said Chapman had hatched "an evil scheme, very carefully brought, and with considerable detail, to trap your victim." In ruling that Chapman must serve at least 35 years, the judge called him "a very great danger to young women," adding, "for what it is worth, I cannot foresee your release," the Guardian reports.
