Police have made an arrest in a massive illegal prescription drug ring believed to be implicated in the death of actor Corey Haim. Los Angeles officials launched an investigation into the ring after they discovered that Haim had obtained thousands of prescription drugs from dozens of doctors in the past year. Haim's family said he had reduced his drug use to "near zero," but Attorney General Jerry Brown disputed that.

"If he took all the pills that our records show he was prescribed over the last year, he took very damaging assaults on his body," Brown said in an interview. Haim, 38, had pneumonia, an enlarged heart and water in his lungs when he died last week, according to the Los Angeles County coroner. The results of toxicology tests are still pending, CNN reports.
