Searching for a unusual way to respond to Glenn Beck’s comments on “social justice,” the Jewish Funds for Justice settled on…haiku. “We wanted to do something that showed some wit, some humor, is little bit cathartic, and is highly participatory,” Mik Moore tells the Daily Beast. The site is HaikuGlennBeck.com, and its banner reads “Haik U, Glenn Beck!”

Moore, you may remember, organized the Great Schlep in 2008, which urged young Jews to convince their grandparents in Florida to vote for President Obama. Some examples of outrage in the Japanese poetic form: “ Hurling expensive / coffee at the expensive / TV screen now, Ahhh,” from Christopher Buckley. From Katie Halper: “In Jesus’s Time / Camels were really teeny / And needle’s eyes HUGE.” (More Glenn Beck social justice stories.)
