An "alternate" prom welcoming a lesbian and her date after their high school canceled the official dance rather than let them attend apparently turned out to be a fake event attended by only 7 other students. A judge ruled that a Mississippi high school violated Constance McMillen's constitutional rights, but didn't order the institution to hold the prom. Rather, the judge supported a second, parent-sponsored prom that welcomed McMillen. But that event was apparently merely show, sources tell Gawker, while another secretive, widely-attended prom was held elsewhere the same night with school help.
"Terrfically done, everyone!" slams Gawker. "Basically a bunch of grownups may have staged an elaborate ruse so the gay girl and her gay lesbian girlfriend and all their totally homo friends could stand around one place looking like chumps." (More Lesbian stories.)
