Well, that didn’t take long: The Parents Television Council is, in a not entirely shocking move, protesting new CBS show $#*! My Dad Says. The decision to include an expletive—albeit a bleeped expletive—in the name of the sitcom demonstrates the network’s “contempt for families and the public” as well as a “desire to shock and offend,” says the Council president.
If any CBS affiliate airs the show, or even promos, before 10pm, the Council threatens to challenge its broadcast license. CBS currently has the series, starring William Shatner as the titular dad from Justin Halpern’s popular Twitter feed, scheduled for an 8:30pm time slot, TV Guide reports. “It will in no way be indecent and will adhere to all CBS standards,” a network spokesperson says, adding that parents can easily block the show.
