Watch It, McGinniss: Palins Could Shoot You

In case you were were wondering, some Wasilla locals are amused by the fuss the national news media—from what they call Outside—is making over Todd and Sarah Palin's new fence. The town paper, the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman, has gotten breathless calls from news organizations, including the Today show, which broadcast this morning from Joe McGinniss's front porch on the non-Palin side of the fence. "The unanimous consensus of the newsroom is that we don’t really care if the Palins want some privacy from what they worry might be prying eyes," the paper's editors write in an unsigned editorial.

Taking their pro-privacy stand a bit further—and having a little fun at Outsiders' expense—they close with this coy warning: "Finally, those who are fond of Joe McGinnis might remind him (if he doesn’t already know) that Alaska has a law that allows the use of deadly force in protection of life and property."
