The Texas Tech administration was not amused by a t-shirt distributed by a fraternity depicting a Tech player choking Texas A&M's mascot, a dog named Reveille, on a leash. Als on the shirt: the words "Vick 'Em," a play on the Aggies' slogan "Gig 'Em." The Tech player wore the #7 of Michael Vick, convicted dogfighter and quarterback. The two teams play Saturday in Lubbock, TX.
According to the AP, the designer of the T admitted that "we knew there would be a controversy about the shirts, you know, animal rights, stuff like that." He added that half the proceeds would go to a local animal defense league; a league spokesperson said they would refuse any money and suggested the frat brothers volunteer instead.
