Turns out Wills and Kate are having a bit of a tiff about a certain tabloid photo, and Kate is—as one pleasant-sounding palace insider puts it—“on probation” for being a bit too friendly with the press. It all started with a picture of Kate playing tennis that appeared last Christmas in a German tabloid. The press-hating prince decided to take the distribution company to court. A settlement was arrived at and all was well—until William pressured Middleton to go after the photographer as well. Her hesitance—and her apparent friendliness with the photographer—leads some to believe she’s actually cuing this particular pap in on her whereabouts. The ensuing tension led to last week’s expected announcement being postponed while Wills "sulked," writes Brown, but sources say the engagement is still on. (More Prince William stories.)
