Joran Van der Sloot may have offered to tell Aruba cops where Natalee Holloway is buried as a ploy to get out of Peruvian jail, but Aruba appears to be taking him seriously. Island authorities plan to send a cop and a prosecutor to quiz Van der Sloot in Peru this summer over the American teenager's disappearance, the AP reports. Van der Sloot, currently awaiting trial for murder in Lima, has long been the only suspect in the Holloway case.
If Van der Sloot is convicted of the Peru murder, however, nothing he tells Aruban authorities will be enough to get him out of the Peruvian jail where he says he fears for his life. "I think it's out of the question because the case in Peru is a very severe case and the Peruvian authorities have said they do not want to do that," Aruba's chief prosecutor says.
