It was the biggest royal wedding since Charles and Diana, the Telegraph reports, as Swedish Crown Princess Victoria married her personal trainer, Daniel Westling, in Stockholm yesterday. The bride wore an ivory silk, off-the-shoulder gown designed by Par Engsheden, and the groom had cleaned up nicely, the paper reports, since he was first introduced to the Swedish public as a rather scruffy hick eight years ago, horrifying her father, King Carl XVI Gustaf.

Swedes got behind the modern love match—she was recovering from an eating disorder when she met Westling—with 20,000 turning out to line the streets and watch the affair on TV screens. Not so modern, and annoying to many, was the fact that the Victoria insisted on being escorted down the aisle by her father, rather than walking with her husband-to-be, which the Telegraph says is customary for Swedish brides. Advance sales of royal memorabilia were disappointing, the paper reports.
