Allegations that the Justice Department is letting the New Black Panther Party slide on voter intimidation charges because the accused are black and the alleged victim is white continue to percolate on Fox News and in the right-leaning media in general. (The AP has a backgrounder on the case here.) The latest fireworks occurred when Megyn Kelly of Fox—her interview a while back with a former Justice Department official who made the allegations got the story moving—brought on New York Post columnist Kirsten Powers, and things escalated to "remarkably uncomfortable levels not normally seen on any cable news program," writes Colby Hall at Mediaite.

"Kelly and Powers appeared to hold each others position in very low regard, replete with accusations of 'you don’t know what you are talking about,'" writes Hall. "For her part Kelly held court, while Powers (appropriately?) played the race card with allegations of playing 'the scary black man thing.' Powers held her own but seemed to be somewhat emotionally shaken by the intense level of confrontation." (More New Black Panther Party stories.)
