John McCain hung Sarah Palin and her family out to dry for all the "sick puppies" in the media to savage, a still-furious Palin has charged. The subsequent press feeding frenzy was so intense that it convinced her to abandon her job as governor of Alaska, she told the Daily Caller. “It was too obvious to me, my family, that we were in a defenseless position the minute I gave my acceptance speech, and the hordes of Obama’s opposition researchers-slash-reporters descended upon Alaska,” she added.

She slammed the McCain campaign for not defending her in the press. "To not have the McCain staff defend my record was an insurmountable challenge," said Palin. The attacking press then “incentivized political opponents to file false ethics charges and expensive, wasteful, frivolous lawsuits against me, my family and my staff, in an obvious attempt to destroy us,” Palin charged. Despite it all, she wasn't discouraged, she boasts. "I would not retreat, I would instead reload, and I would fight for what is right from a different plane," she said.
