(Newser) – An Italian man illustrated the dangers inherent in vuvuzela blowing yesterday, when, driven mad by the droning noise emanating from a nearby bar, he walked into the place with a rifle and fired several shots into the air, ANSA reports. Amazingly, the patrons ignored the shots and kept right on wailing on their horns. So the man left, got into his car, and rammed it into the Coco Bamboo bar at least three times.

Everyone jumped out of the way in time to avoid being injured, and the car apparently survived, too, because the man then drove off. Later, he turned himself in at a local hospital, where he is being tested in the psychiatric ward. All of which leaves one burning question: Why the heck are the Italians still blowing vuvuzelas? Hasn't the world had enough? (Read more Vincenza, Italy stories.)
