Erin Andrews Almost Cries Touting Stalker Law

Erin Andrews appeared on Capitol Hill today to speak out in favor of a new, tougher federal stalking law, and nearly came to tears in the process. “These stories are not easy to talk about,” said the ESPN reporter, flanked by members of Congress. “It's so funny. I work in the public eye. I'm used to these cameras all the time, but it's easier for me to talk about touchdowns and errors.”

Andrews spoke of the “countless” letters she's received from ordinary women with stalker problems. Appearing to choke up she told those women, “There is hope. And there is help. And if you need help do not be ashamed to ask.” The Simplifying the Ambiguous Law, Keeping Everyone Reliably Safe Act (STALKERS, get it?) was introduced in the House last week, CNN explains, and a companion bill is in the works in the Senate.
