Tennessee Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey is mighty ‘afeared of them thar Muslims. In this video, spotted by Politico, of a campaign stop in Chattanooga, Ramsey was asked how he felt about the “presence invading our country from the Muslims.” Ramsey replied that he’d been getting that question a lot thanks to the new mosque being built in a nearby county, which, he seemed to imply, was up to no good. Or maybe, notes Wonkette, he just needed "a 'hook' to get the crazies who now determine the outcome of Republican primaries to vote for him.

“I’m all about freedom of religion,” Ramsey said, “But you cross the line when they start trying to bring Sharia law into the United States . … It is not good if that is what’s going on. Now you could even argue whether being a Muslim is actually a religion, or is it a nationality, a way of life, or cult—whatever you want to call it. … this is something that we are going to have to face.” (More Ron Ramsey stories.)
