It turns out US Senate candidate Rand Paul wasn't always a squeaky clean conservative, and once kidnapped a female college schoolmate to pressure her to take pot bong hits, according to the woman. Paul and a pal "blindfolded me, tied me up, and put me in their car," the woman told GQ. "They tried to force me to take bong hits. They'd been smoking pot." When she refused, the men drove her to a creek, and ordered her to "bow and say, 'I worship you Aqua Buddha,'" she recalled. "At Baylor, worshiping idols was a big no-no. They never hurt me, but the whole thing was kind of sadistic."

The nugget was part of GQ's investigation into Paul's nearly three apparently raucous years at Texas' Baylor University, the largest Baptist school in the world, where he was a member of the "liberal thinking" secret NoZe Brotherhood student club. The organization was blasted as "lewd and grossly sacrilegious" by the university president, and students discovered to be members were expelled. Club pranks included marching with photos of Anita Bryant with her mouth cut out after she declared oral sex a sin. The GQ story is proving hugely embarrassing for the Kentucky campaign, which is threatening legal action, reports the Washington Post. "We will not tolerate drive-by journalism by a writer with a leftist agenda," said a spokesman.
