One New Hampshire Democrat got into trouble this week for wishing Sarah Palin was dead, now another is under fire for explaining why he wants her alive. Timothy Horrigan has resigned from the state's House of Representatives and apologized for a Facebook posting in which he said a dead Sarah Palin would become a martyr and be more dangerous than a live one, Politico reports.

"She is all about her myth and if she was dead she couldn't commit any more gaffes," he wrote. Horrigan—whose comments were denounced as "a really callous, sick, twisted political analysis" by a state GOP spokesman—apologized for "bringing the House into disrepute" and stressed that he bears Palin no ill will. "She is, as far as I know, not a bad person at all—and certainly she deserves to live a long and happy life," he said. (More New Hampshire stories.)
