Privacy is cherished in Switzerland, so it only follows that the country should ... start selling pregnancy tests in vending machines? Apparently. The move, which will bring the product to 3,000 machines at the end of this month, is part of an effort to ensure that young people can purchase the tests discreetly—especially in small towns where the local pharmacy's checkout lady is likely to gossip. "You will find pregnancy tests at 3,300 meters of altitude, as well as in tiny villages," said the exec behind the rollout.

And it may not stop there. The exec has another bright idea: Sales of condoms from vending machines are strong, so a "connected" product may be offered next. Not that that would say much about the condom's effectiveness...
