It would be funny if it didn't sound so utterly painful: A British man in his thirties had to be cut from a fiberglass water slide after he flew into a concrete step at the end of the tube. "There was a small gap about an inch wide between the base of the flume and the plastic steps,' a rescue worker told the Daily Mail. "Due to the speed the man was traveling, his leg became wedged."

The man was freed using a battery operated cutting saw and was rushed to hospital for treatment. The pool reopened soon after, though it's hard to imagine many were in the mood for a swim. (Click here to read about an altogether different type of swimming trauma.)
