Clint Eastwood talked to Katie Couric to promote his latest film, Hereafter, but the CBS News interview strayed into political territory. President Obama is “a nice fella,” but Eastwood is “not a fan of what he’s doing at the moment,” he says. Why not? Eastwood, a one-time California mayor, says Obama is not “governing … he’s having to lay out a certain line and hope people will believe it so he can stay in his position.”
“I think the country is in a very strange period right now,” Eastwood says. “I don’t think there’s too many people out there making sense. Seems like people are becoming political for some sort of notoriety, and not for really accomplishing anything.” As for the film, critics seem to be about evenly split.
