Move over, Harry Potter. The Kindle 3 has passed The Deathly Hallows to become the best-selling product in Amazon’s history, the company has announced. The latest generation Kindle is also selling much faster than its predecessors, and, as Mashable notes, the sales milestone indicates that the iPad isn’t hurting the e-reader much.

“We’re seeing that many of the people who are buying Kindles also own an LCD tablet,” Jeff Bezos said in the company’s statement. “Customers report using their LCD tablets for games, movies, and web browsing and their Kindles for reading sessions.” (More Kindle stories.)
