Pregnant Woman Ordered to Leave Bar

Note to bouncers: Proximity to other people's drinks won't harm a fetus. An Illinois woman says she was ordered to leave a bar after a bouncer noticed she was heavily pregnant. She had flown to town that day for a friend's baby shower, but her night out lasted just 15 minutes—and consisted of her drinking one glass of water. Feeling humiliated, she agreed to leave. "I thought maybe there was some sort of pregnant woman ordinance," she tells ABC News.

Local law enforcement officials say there's no law banning pregnant women from bars and the president of the National Organization for Women says she's never heard of any such law anywhere in America. "That is not acceptable behavior," she said, adding that she thinks the bouncer should be fired and the bar owner sued.
