Irritated by the proliferation of stray cats and dogs? Just move to Utah, where soon you’ll be able to take care of the problem … by shooting them. The Stir points to a new law being proposed by Rep. Curt Oda, a Republican who wants to legalize the killing of all feral animals. Of course, in order for the killing to be legal, the person doing it must be reasonably certain the animal is truly wild, and not just someone’s wandering pet. And if you don’t have a gun, no worries: clubbing, decapitation, or use of a bow and arrow would also be perfectly okay.
Oda justifies the law by claiming it’s the cheapest and fastest solution to the homeless animal problem, but his idea has, not surprisingly, sparked a bit of an uproar amongst animal rights organizations, ksl.com reports.
