Billionaire Jeffrey Epstein may have escaped sex trafficking charges over his tendency to hire underage hookers, but one of his many high-profile buddies may not be able to sidestep trouble. Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, will likely see his job responsibilities cut now that news has come out that Epstein paid off part of a debt owed by Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. Sources say the duke could be forced out of his trade ambassador position entirely thanks to his 16-year friendship with Epstein, which included a visit to the Florida mansion where Epstein met with underage girls.
The government is conducting a review of the duke’s position, sources tell the Daily Telegraph, but it won’t officially announce the review or put public pressure on the duke to quit, since that could anger the queen. Even so, a source says “there won’t be many tears shed if he resigns.” Another senior insider says the duke has exercised poor judgment lately: “There appears to be no discernible mental activity. I feel sorry for him. He has no friends and so is surrounded by these vile people.” Prince Andrew is also said to be friendly with Moammar Gadhafi’s son and a convicted arms dealer.
