Grizzled gunslinger Brett Favre became the second quarterback in history (after Dan Marino) to pass for 60,000 career yards as his Packers blew out the Vikings in Lambeau, 34-0. Favre had 351 yards and three touchdowns. Minnesota's rookie phenomenon Adrian Peterson was injured one week after his NFL-record 296-yard masterpiece. In other games:

  • Arizona's Kurt Warner also had three scoring throws against feisty Detroit; linebacker Karlos Dansby caused three turnovers to enforce the 31-21 win.
  • An embattled, focused Donovan McNabb had four TD passes for Philly, including two to playmaker Brian Westbrook; his team beat Washington, 33-25, to threaten for 3rd place in the NFC East.
