Donald Trump must have "misremembered" when he told an interview this week that he avoided serving in the Vietnam War solely because he held a high draft number, according to documents obtained by The Smoking Gun. Selective Service records reveal that Trump—who graduated from New York Military Academy—received four student deferments and one mystery medical deferment before his draft number was called in December 1969. No details of the short-lived medical deferment were available in the records.

Trump—who told the interviewer that he would “never forget” watching the draft numbers being called while he was at the Wharton School of Finance—had actually graduated from Wharton some 18 months before his number was called. Trump's Selective Service records also reveal that the potential president has birthmarks on both heels. (More Donald Trump stories.)
