The hook-up culture is hurting college kids in the long run, researcher Lisa Wade argues. The Society Pages has video of a recent lecture and sums up one of her points this way: "The problem isn't 'too much' sex," it's "too much bad sex." Students want meaningful encounters, but the entire culture of hooking up makes that hard to achieve. Many end up having sex they don't want or turning celibate. "The solution: an opening up of sexual options that allow students to truly, genuinely explore their own sexualities safely." Click the link to see the video. (More hooking up stories.)
