It took Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 all of 17 days to zoom to the $1 billion mark, becoming the first in the franchise to achieve a feat only eight other films have ever managed. But hot on Deathly Hallows Part 2's tail is Transformers: Dark of the Moon, notes the Hollywood Reporter, which currently stands at $983 million and is poised to join in the $1 billion fun any day now. The others on the list:

  2. Titanic ( $ 1.8 billion)

  2. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest ($1.07 billion)

  5. Alice in Wonderland ($1.02 billion)
  6. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 ($1.01 billion)
  7. The Dark Knight ($1.00 billion)
