A body pulled from the Mississippi River in New Orleans yesterday has been identified as that of Michael Showers, who had a minor recurring role on HBO’s Treme. The 45-year-old, who played New Orleans Police Capt. John Guidry on the show, was found floating in the water yesterday morning by a steamboat captain, and investigators say he was probably in the water about two days, the Times-Picayune reports. WDSU adds that Showers’ girlfriend reported him missing Tuesday after he left to have a drink with a friend Monday night and never came back. (Read more Treme stories.)
