Like most people, Jon Stewart was suitably appalled by the NYPD cop who pepper-sprayed protesters without provocation—but when he learned this cop was named Anthony Bologna, his comedic instincts kicked in. “Anthony Bologna? You and I both know, that guy’s name is Tony Baloney,” he said on the Daily Show. “Guy’s name is Tony Baloney, his favorite pasta? Rigatoni. His favorite island? Coney. Favorite Italian Prime Minister? Berlusconi.”

Bologna’s unique MO even gave Stewart an idea for a brand-new cop drama: The Vigilogna. When the NYPD fires loose cannon and mace aficionado Tony Balogna, he goes rogue, spraying his brand of justice all over New York. The Daily Show even produced a faux trailer you have to see to believe starring—who else?—Chris Meloni of Law & Order SVU. (More Jon Stewart stories.)
