Bombs Linked to Iraq Sunni Leader

A raid on the compound of the leader of Iraq's biggest Sunni political bloc saw his son and dozens of guards arrested, reports the Washington Post.  American and Iraqi soldiers found cars wired with explosives outside the compound; one of the guards had the keys. Adnan al-Dulaimi said the raid was politically motivated and demanded the men be released.

The raid came after gunmen were seen fleeing into the compound after killing a member of a neighborhood watch group. The sectarian split in Iraq's government now looks set to get worse. "How can we work with a man who kills Iraqis and hides car bombs in his office?" a Shiite lawmaker close to Iraqi PM Nouri al-Maliki asked. (More Iraq stories.)
