When Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow kneeled and prayed during his team’s victory Sunday, little did he know he was kickstarting the latest viral craze. Tebowing—when you “get down on a knee and start praying, even if everyone else around you is doing something completely different,” explains Tebowing.com founder Jared Kleinstein—has become the new planking for the sports set, the Wall Street Journal declares.
The eponymous website features images of all kinds of people in the pose, in all kinds of places, from operating rooms to the US Capitol. It all started when Kleinstein noticed Tebow in the pose on Sunday. Kleinstein urged his friends to strike the pose (see it here), started a Tumblr blog about it the next day, then registered the domain name; traffic hit 120,000 page views yesterday. So what’s so great about Tebowing? Well, for one thing, “we’re non-denominational. We’re very accepting of all types,” says Kleinstein. What’s more, “It’s safer than planking.
