Bruins Blow Big Lead vs. Devils, Lose 4-3 in OT

The Boston Bruins had New Jersey on its heels, scoring three goals in the first period, but watched it slip away as the Patrik Elias scored two of the Devils' four unanswered goals, including the winner in overtime. Zach Parise had the other tallies for the Devils in their eighth consecutive victory. Also in the National Hockey League:

  • The New York Islanders scored more than two goals for the first time in 14 games but still lost to Atlanta, 4-3 in the shootout.
  • Columbus got its third win all-time against Colorado, 5-4, in a game that featured four third-period goals by the Blue Jackets in front of an enthusiastic home crowd. Dan Fritsche scored the winner.
