White House Metal Detector Set Off by ... Obama

A metal detector leading into the White House was activated today by the president himself. President Obama was returning home from a holiday gathering across Pennsylvania Avenue when he decided to chat with the security guards at the Northwest Gate, reports USA Today. They showed him how a typical White House visitor would gain access, and then Obama strolled through the metal detector, triggering a beep. The First Cell Phone was to blame. "I just wanted to see what it was like getting in here," Obama said. (At least he didn't get locked out this time.)
