Considering nature basically exploded at the passing of Kim Jong Il—at least, as reported by the state-run Korean Central News Agency—it shouldn't be too shocking to hear that the mythmaking for Kim Jong Un has already begun. The AP reports that a newspaper editorial calls him "born of heaven" (but, bummer, details of that angelic birth, and the legend surrounding it, have yet to be released.) And though he's believed to be 27, it's expected that he will turn 30 in January.
That way it's more mystical: Kim Jong Il would have turned 70 and Kim Jong Un will turn 30 in the year that Kim Il Sung would have turned 100. Amazing! His nicknames are already getting better, too. He was dubbed "Young General" after being made a four-star general in September 2010, then elevated to "Respected General" this year, then deemed "Great Successor" after Kim Jong Il's death. His latest title, as of this week: "Outstanding Leader." (More North Korea stories.)
